I have been going here for years. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Kind and gentle. 9-5 Pool therapy with therapist Sharon. Good for discovery No referral needed!!!! I've gone to other pain clinics, NURA pain clinic in Edina is not like them others. When I visit here I leave with more understanding and answers to where my pain is coming from and with therapy options and nearly painless injections and other procedures I am more confident with hope that life can be more enjoyable.

My pain journey with Nura Pain has been a downright nightmare. I went for three days last week, calling over and over again to get pain medication refilled, only to finally have a nurse leave a message on my line, telling me that it was inappropriate to refill the prescription even though they had prescribed it to me. I am waiting on my third back surgery at the moment with severe sciatic pain. The medication‘s I called on, were gabapentin, a very high dosage, mind you, and, my pain medication as well. These are obviously medication‘s that you don’t just stop taking cold turkey, nor would you want to if you are in severe pain. I would go so far as to say that working with them is downright dangerous. this week, I was finally Prescribed a different dosage, and supposedly taken care of, however, when I went to get it refilled. The pharmacy told me I could not fill it because I needed a doctors override. I called this evening before they closed and left a message, call tonight left a message with the operator, and then spoke with a nurse, who called me back. She proceeded to tell me that there is nothing urgent about my situation, And that they had 24 hours to get back to me. Because I did not receive surgery through Nura Pain clinic, I do have a pain contract with Nura Pain clinic mind you, therefore, I cannot refill at other locations, that’s my situation is not considered urgent. I chose to not go with their sugewon recommended as I did not get return phone calls the first couple times I called in, and that surgeon was quite a ways out. I had my second back surgery less than two weeks ago at Fairview University. Despite that I told the nurse this evening that I was in immense pain, she said that all she could do was prescribed me withdrawal medication with her, and quite frankly, I am over the top insulted. I then asked her to repeat some thing that she had said, and I was trying to take some notes to sort it out, and she said that she didn’t need to repeat herself, because it was on a recorded line, and “they” could get the recording.. I proceeded to tell her that I wasn’t sure who “they” were, and that I was just taking some notes for myself. Again, incredibly insulted. I don’t know what kind of deal they have going on there, but I will tell you, you’re tossed around from person to person, forgotten about, you never have one person to go through your pain journey with, you have to repeat yourself every single time, and also get questioned and accused.. this place is honestly awful. Please see someone else. Ps.. I’m 40 years old and this is the first negative Google review I’ve ever left in my life. This place is just that bad.:(

Great place. I've done physical therapy before with no positive results, but I the exercises I've learned here have been quite beneficial. I also like having someone to talk with here (a psychologist) even though. I would recommend Nura if you need help with pain management. I just wish they did pill based management as well.

They are the best! If it’s a pump you need they are the best out there. Dr Bettendorf did an amazing job when she implemented my pain pump. This is the place to go….and everyone is kind and thorough and knowledgeable…I’m grateful to be a patient here….

First, I need to say, PLEASE EXAMINE YOUR BILLS. If you have surgery or are seen there, they bill deceptively separate. Rhea, the whatever her title is, told me that since I can’t afford procedures right now as my Husband is handicapped and we are in a huge transition, that Nura won’t see me anymore. If you don’t spend enough money here, they kick you to the curb. I’ve been a patient since February of 2000 and Rhea just sent me packing, suggesting 2 other doctor offices. So I suggest you just find a different doctor who isn’t going to demand you purchase their services for her commissions. *edit: I tried to ask her please because we are losing our benefits at the end of September because my Husband was let go when his MFLA wore out, that’s when she suggested other clinics. What part of LOSING BENEFITS was unclear, Nura I was an existing patient so it wasn’t relevant, I was doing monthly consultations, seeing their PT and making monthly payments. Rhea really did not care bit. She ended our conversation with a pretty much “see ya wouldn’t wanna be ya,” and hung up. TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING. Another edit! The whole place, billing, patient care, all of it, PLEASE EXAMINE YOUR BILLS!

I am deeply disappointed in the way Nura is run and feel a bit conned. For context, I have been dealing with debilitating back back for a year and half after a disc herniation and have tried 4 other clinic systems for a multitude of treatment and came to Nura out of desperation . if you're looking for a healing journey, please be warned: First of all, you will not have a doctor or even a primary provider at the clinic and this will never be communicated to you. I had an initial meeting with a doctor which was actually pretty good. He listened to my journey so far, asked questions, and went over a treatment plan he thought could help that hadn't been tried before. Little did I know this would be last time I would ever see him. After that consultation, you will NEVER be able to see a doctor unless you need a surgical procedure, in which case it will be a random doctor you haven't met. You will ONLY ever have follow-ups with PAs and NPs and they will be different every time. It's incredibly disheartening to have to try to explain your struggle and pain journey every single time you're there with a new person. It's impossible to build a relationship or feel like they have any understanding of your unique needs. It's a paint-by-numbers environment. My last follow-up with an NP named Qiying She, she was incredibly dismissive and icy towards me. I told her I was being forced to leave my job due to my inability to sit or stand because of pain and I was becoming suicidal, and she callously told me they couldn't try any treatment or medication for at least a month because of insurance. I told her my insurance has a method where doctors can make a plea to peer-review board to reverse the standard denial decision based on the patient's unique case, but she said they don't do that. I pleaded if there was there anything we can try in the meantime, any new medications, anything, as I don't think can keep waiting while my pain gets worse every day, she told me no because the doctor already had a treatment plan. I asked if I could speak to the doctor ever, like if we needed to make adjustments to his initial treatment plan, and she told me no, they don't do that. It was like talking to a robotic customer service rep reading a script, not a medical provider treating you like a human. It was so disheartening to have to fight to be heard and treated like a real person who was suffering. She then poked my back in places and asked if it hurt, I told her no, and she said "Interesting, you have back pain, but it doesn't hurt if I press on it" like she didn't believe I was pain. It's nerve pain, it's not a bruise, it doesn't hurt more if you touch. I was astounded that she didn't know the difference and that she was questioning my pain's legitimacy. If you're looking to find some relief your chronic pain, maybe you'll get lucky and some of their treatments will help, I don't know. But if you're looking for hope and to build a trusting relationship with a care team who knows you and cares about your wellbeing, please PLEASE look elsewhere, you will not find that at Nura by virtue of their own clinic design.

I’ve been to other pain clinics, but nothing compares to Nura. I’ve had chronic pain for over 10 years and Dr. Staynor was the first doctor to really take the time to find out what was wrong with me. When I had my first visit he took the time to develop a plan of care. I had a pain pump placed back in May and it’s been incredible! Katie (nurse practitioner) has been my caregiver since and she is the best! She always listens and follows thru with whatever she recommends. It’s amazing what they offer for pain relief! Also, I love that I can have everything done at one facility! They truly care about how I’m doing. I highly recommend Nura Pain Clinic in Edina!

Disappointed. I called asking about one of their nerve block services listed on their site. I was told "You can't just come in for that, you can only come in for pain". I explained how this is offered on the site and directly related to chronic pain and problems. "Well I guess so" was her reply. Upon getting an appointment made, I am called a day before and told I need to talk about some issues before the appointment. I asked if this can be dealt with during the appointment instead, she reluctantly said yes with a BUT then asked about things that have nothing to do with my appointment, the treatment I am seeking. I arrived for my appointment today on time, parking was a nightmare, got in, waited in line, told to come to a person at the desk. It was ten minutes after my appointment by this time and she said "Well you are SO LATE I will have to ask if they even want you now" As I stood there for a few minutes she looked at me and said rudely "You can go over there, I don't know how long this will take". A short while went by and she came to me and said "You are just too late so we won't see you as a new patient, you want to reschedule?". This was handled poorly and I am very disappointed. ***UPDATE*** I keep getting emails saying "new message in your portal account" to find out there is no message. I also got a letter today explaining the consequences of being a "NO SHOW" and I have 1 strike against me. This place is a joke.
